Who Are We?
Eugene Field A+ Elementary School is an arts integrated elementary school in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
We are the only A+ school in the state of South Dakota, and our students learn the curriculum through the arts, and the arts through the curriculum. We also focus on multiple intelligences, recognizing that everyone is smart in many ways.
The Eugene Field A+ PTA is made up of parents, family members, teachers, administrators, and other supporters of EFA+. The PTA exists to make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

What Does PTA Do?
The PTA carries out its mission of helping children reach their potential in many different ways. We raise funds, host events, gather donations, support teachers and classrooms, and connect parents and families.
We support events and activities year round like Fun Run, SmART Bowl, Fall Festival, Book Fairs, Science Fair, and Spring Carnival. We also use PTA funds to provide meals for teachers during conferences and teacher appreciation week, support A+ training events, and provide classroom supplies.
Having an active PTA also means our students have the opportunity to participate in Reflections, a nationally acclaimed student recognition program to encourage artistic creativity in the classroom and at home.

PTA Impact
The PTA makes a difference for our school community. Here are some of the ways the EFA+ PTA has and is making a difference:
Raises around $50,000 every year that goes toward supporting our students and school
Every year hosts 2 community wide events (Fall Festival & Spring Carnival), 2 whole school fundraisers (Fun Run & SmART Bowl), a Science Fair, and 2 or more Scholastic Book Fairs that build our school community and culture
Provides additional funding for the school musical that supports purchasing or creating sets, make-up, props, and costumes ensuring the school musical maintains the high level of excellence EFA+ musicals are known for
Supports teachers by providing meals and snacks for teachers during parent/teacher conferences and teacher appreciation week, and providing funding twice a year for classroom supplies
Adds funds to the budget when playground equipment is being replaced, increasing the recess and recreational options available to all students
Provides funding toward A+ training for teachers and staff which includes bringing A+ fellows from North Carolina to EFA+ to do model teaching, whole staff training, and professional development, and allows EFA+ staff to travel for additional A+ training.
Provides funding for Artists in Residence for 2nd and 4th grade so that EFA+ students get the chance to work with these artists twice during their elementary school years, broadening their exposure and experience with different types of fine arts like folk music, watercolor painting, and more
Supports MI (Multiple Intelligence Days) with funding and also with adults willing to share their skills with students, strengthening school-home connections and helping students see how adults in their lives use multiple intelligences everyday

Donate
There are many opportunities to donate throughout the year. You can donate to specific fundraisers as they come up, toward teacher meals, the musical, or an open donation to the PTA. To make a donation, visit the PTA Store.
Volunteer
PTA runs on volunteers. We rely on volunteer time, resources, and skills to plan, organize and run the PTA and all of the events that happen throughout the year.

Join PTA
It costs $10 per person per year to join PTA. When you join, you not only support the PTA with your dues, but you'll also receive monthly meeting minutes directly in your inbox, and 1-2 emails per month with PTA news, volunteer opportunities, and more.
If you prefer a paper form, you can download and fill this out, and turn it in to the school office along with your payment.
